I have been dating Graham since I was 19 years old, so for nearly 6 years. We get along great and even moved in together last year. But he has not yet asked me to marry him. I have dropped hints like crazy but he acts like since everything is good now why change up anything.

If this is important to you then you need to talk to him in a realistic fashion about what the future holds for the 2 of you. Maybe you jusst need to know that marriage is in the works, but not immediately. Ask him what is holding him back. Tiffany

You seem to understand exactly what Graham is thinking. You are living together so what's the point of getting married? Marriage is a contract, a commitment beyond an oral promise. Living together is a day to day thing with no assurance of tomorrow. A better plan would have been to refrain from living together until you were married. I know, how lame, right? Yet it's the best way to get that commitment. No, it's not a guarantee but it is considerably more solid than just living together. As to your problem, I don't see him making the move so I guess you'll have to. VOE

Marriage isn't everything, its just a piece of paper. Relationships can often change for the worse when people get married. You need to lay off him and stop hinting just love him. He may change his mind once you stop forcing the situation and pop the question one day.
