trust issues

i have major trust issues when it comes to love, my dad cheated on my mom when i was 3 yrs old and got a home wrecking bitch who is now my stepmom pregnant. im 17 n refuse to trust any man in my life, i want a bf but i want to be able to trust him too. anoyone have advice? councelings not an option.

Live your own life and not the life of your parents. Make better choices. Tell any guy you date that you have a ZERO TOLERANCE policy for cheating.

Every man is different and I am sure that you will pick a man wisely and one that will be true to you. Because of your history you should be able to pick up the signs of cheating, so really pay attention to that. JD

You need to understand that your fathers life is seperate from your life. While you may inherit blue eyes or brown hair from your father, you do not inherit his code of ethics. It is all about choice. You need to pick a man who, you feel in your gut, is a good man. And as soon as you determine he may not be, get out sooner rather than later. Steph

There are no magic words that will fix this. Counseling has to be the only option. What you are experiencing is an emotional hang up. If you had a broken leg you wouldn't say "going to a Dr. is not an option". Same thing applies here. It doesn't mean that you're crazy or unbalanced, it means that you recognize a problem and that it needs to be fixed. Everyone has their irrational hang-ups but only the smart people set out to correct them. Be one of the smart ones. VOE
