Small boutiques in NYC? Does anyone know any?

I need to know some names of small boutiques in NYC that are locally owned. I need to know this for a project. please help. its really important. Im from bemuda so i have no way of knowing, and im going to nyc soon so i need to know where to go. help help help. Im like freaking out!!!

You should just hit the SoHo or Chelsea districts since those places are just loaded with cute, small, family owned boutiques.
