I would like to tell you to go to the police but I can understand that it is alot harder than just that as i hav been in a similar situation. If i were you i would go to the police, make a statement on what is happening so that it is on record that you have spoken to police, then move away without telling him. Tell the police you dont want to get a restraining order at risk of him gettin more pissed off, but tell them that at the same tym you are fearing for your childs safety and dont want to be where it may become dangerous. That way if he reports that you have stolen his son or anything it is also on record that you feared for yours and your childs safey. That way if it ever comes to court he won't get your son. This is why we have police, lawyers and courts. Tell the police about his threats, hire a lawyer to get a restraining order. If you opt for a firearm, get proper training and necessary permits. At the least, buy pepper spray and carry it with you all the time.
