Is my mechanic ripping me off?

I drive a 2005 VW Beetle and I've been taking my car to a local mechanic for the last 2 years. It always ends up costing me at least $500 for things that are wrong with it that I don't understand and I think he's taking advantage of me just cause I'm fema

Speak to your brother or any other friends that know about cars and show them what you're being charged for and see what they think. If they think you're being ripped off I'd head somewhere else

I say confront him about it, this is very common and you'll probably have the same problem going to another mechanic
