I just need some simple advice on this subject.

Apologies have two parts. Part one is simply expressing your regret at having committed the offense. Part two is making things right. If you dent someone's fender, you apologize, then you have their car fixed. In a relationship where you've violated trust, you can only make things right by surrendering some freedom. You have to tell where you are going and with whom. Where you've been and with whom. You have to be completely open, allowing email and texts to be read if necessary. No secrets. No sneakiness. That is the only way to rebuild trust, I'm sorry to say. How long? That's hard to tell. However long it takes, you have to ask yourself if it's worth it. I believe you. Good luck. VOE
