How should I ask him?

My boyfriend has a history with drugs. Long story short, he has been clean for 2 years. He recently had a work related back injury and has to take what he used to be addicted to. I read a text message of his asking his friend for more. I can't let him go down that road again!

Don't suggest counseling, insist on it. The ultimatum is that it's drugs or you PLUS counseling. You and counseling are a packaged deal. Let him know you are willing to go with him if he wants. The option to give him time to come clean is no option. Too much damage can happen during that time. He needs help immediately. If he was clean for 2 years, you know he can do it. He seems worth saving. VOE
