My relationship with my boyfriend is the best one Ive ever had. but all of a sudden, once his car broke down, he sends me like one or two messages a day, doesnt even call me. He said its because hes really busy with his car, but im not sure if thats really the reason

enough with the messages, just take him out for coffee or something and ask him. just be straight and see what's going on... enough with trying to figure out what he's thinking

I can't see how the car breaking down could have anything to do with him not contacting you any more. I'd keep trying to find out what's changed. If he's not going to tell you what it really is I'd be worried there's something else going on
