My boyfriend just about never talks about his feelings and I seriously get the idea that something is bothering him. No matter if he is happy or sad or whatever he is not much of a talker. I know his parents just separatted and that is prolly something, but how to get him to talk???

you cant make people talk if they dont want to. just make sure you are creating an environment that would allow him to feel comfortable and welcome to talking if he decided that he wanted to.

Id he does not want to talk then stop making him try to talk. Maybe you should get a bf that likes to talk since that is somethingg that seems to be a big deal to you.

A lot of guys are just not good at talking. You can try to get him to open up but depending on his personality it may just not happen. Try to get him to tlak about things he WANTS to talk about and then maybe the other stuff will come out as well. Jess

One question - Why? Why does he have to talk about it? Guys cope with problems much differently than girls. He may want to talk about what's bothering him eventually but let him decide how to cope. Let him decide if and when he talks about it. The more you push, the more he will withdraw or resent your imposition. It's OK to let him know that you know he's troubled but let it go at that. Don't start asking a lot of questions or otherwise pushing him. He won't like it. VOE

Just ask him questions that he has to answer and not yes/no questions. But be careful not to pressure him too much or he may just shut up for good. JD
