Cutting....

I lashed out from my parents by cutting my arms when they made fun of my weight. I know i will never do it again, but I am scared to tell them because of the consequences and im worried they will figure out by seeing the scars on my arms. What should i do?

Hell yes tell them. They are the catilyst for this and they need to know that what they said actually hurt you. Parents are not perfect. They screw up all the time. They need to know it when they do and you have the evidence to show them. Don't go at this by making accusations, just tell them what happened. Your family may need some professional help, it's hard to say but if you think so, then don't be afraid to say so. VOE

You need to make it clear to your parents what affect their comments are having on you. My gf was exactly the same with her parents, who kept teasing her about her weight cause they didn't understand how bad it was actually making her feel. Once they realize the impact they will stop, so I think show them the impact

Sure you can keep this to yourself, but what happens next time someone makes fun of you? I think you are bottling your emotions inside until its too much and then you react like you did. I think you would feel and handle the situation much better if you spoke to someone about it, as the others have said a councilor is a great first step

you need to talk to your parents about how it makes you feel when they talk about your weight. Leave out the cutting if you are not comfortable telling them but make it clear that it REALLY hurts you when they say those things. If you have the urge again it would be best to see someone since this could lead to depression or worse.

talk to someone else about it, like your guidance counselor, best friend, a family member you trust, or an outside source that specializes in your problem

You need to keep it to yourself and maybe if you still feel anxious, sad or depressed thenyou can talk to your school counselor. JD
