Me and this guy have been on and off talking for a month or two now and he finally wants to ask me out but my parents and sister hate him. There was always another girl getting in the way of us and he could never really decide if he liked me or not before but we both really like each other now.

You don't say why they don't like him and I'm guessing that you are afraid that others will agree with them if you do. Of your family or this guy, who do you think has your happiness and best interest in mind? On your worst day, who would you trust with your life the most? They have a reason and you don't want to listen to them. I think they must know something and are trying to protect you. VOE

it sucks when your parents say stuff like that but at the end of the day its your family that knows you best and as much as we try to not believe it majority of the time they are always right and have your best interest at heart. i agree with the comment before did the other girl reject him and your the rebound? you don't deserve that!

At the end of the day its your life and you need to make your own decisions, but if he ends up hurting you its your family that you will turn to for support, so I think make sure you really convinced on this guy before you go any further

What happened to the other girl? If she ended up rejecting him or leaving him and then he started really liking you I'd be worried and would agree with your parents
